Helping Paws for Dogs With Cancer; A Calendar for 2005

(PRWEB) December 1, 2004

Approximately 70 different types of canine cancer have been discovered. Did you know that cancer is the number one cause of death in dogs over 10 years old? Did you know that nearly half of all companion animals will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime? This calendar was created by Amber Hollers in honor of her beloved Lucy, who was recently diagnosed with canine osteosarcoma (bone cancer). The dogs featured in this calendar have all fought cancer with the help of their guardians and their stories are inspiring. There are stories of survival as well, which can give us hope if we ever find ourselves the caretaker of a dog with cancer. The majority of calendar proceeds will be donated to The Magic Bullet Fund, with a portion going to help with Lucy’s cancer care costs. The Magic Bullet Fund is provided through The Perseus Foundation and founded by Laurie Kaplan, author of Help Your Dog Fight Cancer. Through The Magic Bullet Fund, many cancer dogs whose caretakers cannot afford to provide treatment will be given treatment and a fighting chance to survive. If you would like to make an additional contribution to The Magic Bullet Fund, please visit:

Calendars will be available mid-December and will be a donation of $ 12.00 each. For more information, and to view the full calendar story, Please visit the calendar web site at:
