New Healthy Dog Treat Company Donates Profits to Local Animal Shelters and Rescues across Five States

New Healthy Dog Treat Company Donates Profits to Local Animal Shelters and Rescues across Five States

Marblehead, MA (PRWEB) March 23, 2011

Goodness Gracious LLC (, a US manufacturer of healthy dog treats and supplies, announced recently that after just nine months of being in business, it donated thousands of dollars to community animal shelters and rescue organizations in 2010. Goodness Gracious, which earmarks 51 percent of its profits for animal shelters and rescues in locations where its products are sold, pays a portion of it up front for each new retailer that carries its products. The Company also recently announced that it is boosting its contributions in 2011 by donating $ 2 off the top of every item sold through its website to non-profit animal welfare charities.

Animal shelters and rescues in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Chicago and Georgia benefited from Goodness Gracious last year. And the Company is looking to expand that reach through key partnerships with distributors and retail stores in 2011 and online sales.

“We are thrilled to be able to save and improve the lives of animals in need, and we have our loyal customers to thank,” said Amy Renz, Managing Director. “Our 2010 donations were enough to rescue, feed and vaccinate thousands of companion animals. And 2011 is already looking brighter for many more. Through our current partnerships with key distributors we are now reaching over 1000 retail outlets across 10 states. Our donations and our growth are remarkable, especially considering we launched our business just a year ago.” Renz continued.

Audrey’s Pet Supply and Services (, an upscale pet supply store on Newbury Street in Boston, is one of those loyal retailers committed to animal welfare. They sell Goodness Gracious treats and have chosen the Animal Rescue League of Boston ( as the charity they want Goodness Gracious to support.

“Working with Goodness Gracious has been such an amazing experience not only for me as a store owner but also for my customers and their dogs,” said Brittany Bang, owner of Audrey’s Pet Supply. “There are hundreds of ‘good’ dog treats out there but none are the total package like the Goodness Gracious line. Not only has Goodness Gracious created a treat that consists of yummy, human grade quality ingredients that dogs go crazy over, but they’ve also built a business by giving back 51% of their profits to animal rescue work… It truly is a win win!” Bang continued.

Having a big, positive impact on a neglected animal’s life doesn’t cost much. According to the ASPCA’s website ( you can feed a needy dog or cat for less than $ 1 per day and vaccinate one for $ 3.50. With the donations from Goodness Gracious, the Animal Rescue League of Boston was able to aid hundreds.

“We are honored to have a friend like Audrey’s owner Brittany Bang who shares our commitment to rescuing homeless animals,” said Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Boston Adoption Manager Marianne Gasbarro. “Audrey’s routinely supports us by featuring our adoptable animals, and by holding special in-store adoption days and promotions that benefit our Adoption Center,” Gasbarro explains. “Audrey’s Pet Supply also stocks Goodness Gracious treats and has selected our shelter to receive the 51% give back that Goodness Gracious generously donates. Our partnership is a great example of how we can make a real difference in the lives of animals on the local level.”

Goodness Gracious’ partnership with Audrey’s and ARL Boston isn’t the only success story. Through sales made at Parker’s Pets ( in Chicago, Goodness Gracious supports Chicago’s non-profit Trio Animal Foundation ( In New York, the Putnam County Humane Society ( is supported by Goodness Gracious sales at Reigning Dogs and Cats Too. PAWS New England ( which rescues dogs out of a high kill shelter in rural Tennessee and places them in homes throughout New England is supported by Goodness Gracious sales at the Natural Dog ( in Newburyport, MA and Especially for Pets ( Massachusetts stores. So is the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society ( And there are many more stories like these.

“Having Goodness Gracious treats for sale at Audrey’s is such a no brainer,” said Bang. “We try to support animal rescue work at our shop as much as possible and by selling Goodness Gracious treats we are able to help shelters in our community. More companies should follow their business model and give back where they can. When customers hear that 51% of the profits of Goodness Gracious treats go back to helping animal rescue work within our community it is such a natural reaction for them to want to purchase the treats. Customers know not only will their dog be getting a treat with the finest quality ingredients they also know it is money very well spent.” she continued.

Goodness Gracious products can be found in retail stores in MA, NH, ME, RI, CT, NY, NJ, IL, IN and WI and online at A partial list of the charities Goodness Gracious supports also can be found online at
