Glad Dog Press Announces Fundraising for Rescue

Durango, CO (PRWEB) November 20, 2011

In keeping with her mission for the book, Pfau will donate $ 5 from the sale of each copy of “Pure Gold” at independent bookstores between November 25 and December 31 to local shelters, humane societies and rescue groups. “I’ve been blessed by all the gold in my life, and this is a way to support the wonderful work these organizations are doing,” she said.

It’s easy for stores to participate. Here are the steps:

1. Contact a local humane organization and ask for their partnership and promotion of the offer.

2. Order “Pure Gold” from Ingram or Baker & Taylor.

3. After the sales period, e-mail Holli with the number of books sold and the name and address of the humane organization, and Holli will send a check to them.

Libby Cowles, community relations manager for Maria’s Bookshop in Durango, Colorado, endorses the plan. “’Pure Gold” was number one on our weekly bestseller list shortly after its release. We continue to see strong sales, and are always eager to support our local humane society.”

Reviews suggest “Pure Gold” will be a welcome gift for the holidays. A recent review in Publishers Weekly states, “Pfau, a truly gifted writer and avid golden retriever lover, recounts the joys, challenges and rewards of sharing her life with six rescued goldens. This book celebrates the special bond that elevates canine friends to family members.”

With the help of dog lovers and lovers of good dog books, Pfau wants to make donations to local groups across the country. “With the help of bookstores and readers, we can make this a happy holiday season for the hounds,” she said.
