Why are so many people dense about dogs?

Question by quazi90630: Why are so many people dense about dogs?
I read, often, that “my dog is sick, what do I do?”
“Can I give my dog chocolate?”
“My dog has diarhea, what should I do?”
“How do I potty train my dog?”

These are basic questions that every dog owner shoud know. If you think your dog is sick, don’t wait, take them to the vet. Don’t wait for people here to tell you to go to the vet.

Geez. If you own a dog, get some basic knowledge.

How to train a puppy to walk on a leash?

Question by graciesaldinger: How to train a puppy to walk on a leash?
I have a 9 month old poodle puppy. She is not your typical puppy at all. I say this because she is very calm. All she does is lay around the house and cuddle. From time to time she plays with her ball, but she isnt a hyper dog. I tried to take her for a walk, but found out she isnt trained to walk on a leash. I am new to owning a dog and dont have crazy money to take her to pets smart for the pup trainer class. I’ve put her harness and leash on her and pulled her toward me (that is what I was told to do) with a treat in my hand.. but I really dont feel comfortable doing this because I feel like I am hurting her even though she doesnt cry. She can walk toward me on the leash in the house, but it seem slike she doesnt like going outside. She just cuddles into a ball on the sidewalk. What should I do?! The lady I bought her from said she was fully trained which obviously isnt the case at all. Please help me!

Take her out every day a few times at the same time each day developing a routine. Break up treats and keep them in your pocket. As you walk offer your dog encouragement and give her an occassional pice of treat to reinforce positive behavior. She’ll get beter. Dogs love to walk. You just have to do it more
