Question by hiniikken: Atheists, you say there is no meaning to existence other than what a person deems as a meaning for themselves?
Scenario: Through serious deliberation a very intelligent person deems he was created by a Supreme Being , that he exists on this Earth for a purpose and that he will be judged on his actions after he departs from this earth. After serious contemplation of all the issues pertaining to his self deemed meaning he finds that any alternative to this meaning is absurd. Therefore he has discovered the truth (he deems). Now you who have not yet deemed a meaning for your existence other than to ‘have fun’ must acknowledge that the aforementioned person has constructed a viable meaning that is superior to anything that you can conjure. Therefore it is incumbent on you to accept that this meaning is vastly superior to anything else if you have any sense of decency.
In a world where meaning of existence is deemed..surely then that these meanings can be compared and evaluated and gain followers who agree that only a very intelligent person could have derived this meaning. Same way you guys sit and smile when Dawrkins is talking to you about the meaning he finds in the universe, a meaning infinitely useless in comparison to the aforementioned meaning.

Or do you feel that someone saying “I exist to walk my dog in the park” as equally valued?
Thats a good

How do I make myself look better to employers?

by aynne

Question by ScarbMom: How do I make myself look better to employers?
I am 21yrs old. I have my GED and some college. I do not have a college degree but have taken an array of classes. I have very little work experience because I only worked 4 months between getting my GED and starting college. At that point I was a full time student and a full time Mommy. After college I was only able to find temp work and when I did land a full-time job this spring I was let go in August (4months later) for claims that they would not address when later ask for more information. I have been applying for positions for 3 months now and I have not recieved even one call, interview, or request for information. I know all of the starts and stops on my resume look bad. I would find it strange if I were hiring me. I need some advice on what to do to make myself look better to the HR. I have a great personality and professional appearance. If I could only make it to an interview I know I would impress them but I look bad on paper.

Please help and any advice from HR personell would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

For starters, use years, not specific month/date on your resume and LINKEDIN profile.

Second, print out several job descriptions for jobs you are qualified for and write down a list of KEY WORDS then add those to your LINKEDIN profile and resume.

Third, often times the local Unemployment office will offer classes so you can add skill sets to your resume. Look into job training. IT IS FREE.

Fourth, you were let go for a specific reason. You need to find out what that reason was, so it does not come back to harm you on a background check or reference check. Find a co-worker, meet them for coffee and be frank. You cannot sue for wrongful termination.
